Torture Your Corpse.
Cela m'a permis de redécouvrir le phénomène Get the Shot.
FEED ME TO THE PIGS
CRUCIFIXION DEPICTION
STRAINED
PRYING EYES
Get the Shot est revenu en force.

Get the Shot Comes Back Swinging With Their Latest EP
2025 marked the end of the collaboration between the band and their longtime vocalist, Jean-Philippe Lagacé.
For many people, J-P was the face of the band, the voice, and the presence on stage.
The band always put on one hell of a show.
They were a sure bet.
2025 also marked the beginning of a new collaboration between Mathieu Dhani and Get the Shot.
Math is a major figure in the Quebec scene. He has been involved in, and is still involved in, a ton of different projects!
His stage presence and vocals make him a real asset to the band!
The band had already given us a great taste of their plans and what was coming with their song:
Torture Your Corpse.
A song I absolutely loved back then, and still love to this day.
A new era of Get the Shot had just begun.
It continued the direction they had started with their latest album, Merciless Destruction.
But with an even more aggressive edge.
Thanks to my good friends in Spitpool, I got to follow their tour when they were supporting Get the Shot last May.
It gave me the chance to rediscover the Get the Shot phenomenon.
Aggression all the way.
But more importantly, a band with a great community behind them.
Here are a few photos from the tour, showing that Get the Shot is still very much alive and as explosive as ever.
CRUCIFIXION DEPICTION consists of:
- FEED ME TO THE PIGS
- CRUCIFIXION DEPICTION
- STRAINED
- PRYING EYES
Four nasty tracks!
Feed Me to the Pigs gets things going, mixing elements of deathcore and hardcore. The band sets the stage for what's coming next on this EP.
It's brutal and catchy.
To take things even further, we get the EP's title track:
CRUCIFIXION DEPICTION.
The band brought in Maxime Maltais (vocalist of Don't Try) as a guest feature on the track.
Max is also the band's photographer.
This song brings together Max and Math's distinct vocal styles, mixing deathcore and hardcore.
Everything fits together really well.
Back to hardcore with Strained.
A solid 44 seconds of pure brutality! The song brings back memories of old-school punk bands and their short songs, delivering maximum impact in minimal time!
And finally, Prying Eyes.
A great way to close out this EP.
It confirms the band's direction: we chose violence.
It's crushing, it's heavy, it's groovy.
I'm finishing up this review, and all I want to do is mosh by myself.
This EP hits hard.
Get the Shot is back in full force.
The band will be performing live on December 19 at Salle Montaigne to celebrate the release of
their EP.
