Le 9 avril dernier, la tournée The Dead Ones Released Tour 26’ s’arrêtait à la Source de la Martinière pour donner tout qu’un show !

Nos voisins Flesh Prison, band émergent deathcore d’Ontario récemment signé chez Papercut Recordings, commencent la soirée avec du gros son LOURD. La crowd toujours un peu gênée au début, commence à se dégourdir petit à petit, elle se réchauffe et rapidement, ça part. Flesh Prison nous offre une performance insane, extrême, sombre, on peut bien sentir leur style; psychologie, horreur, atmosphère lourde, agressive... Le chanteur, Paul Padgett, offre une perfo qui est remplie d’émotions, de tension… pas juste une performance pour crier. Quand tu t’arrêtes deux secondes, tu regardes/écoutes le show, tu es complètement en immersion avec eux et tu ressens presque les traumas et ce combat psychologique. Flesh Prison très fort, authentique; les émotions, regards, breakdowns et growls au rendez-vous. J’en aurais pris encore plussss longtemps, un méchant beau mélange entre brutalité et fragilité.

Ensuite, le band arrivé de Boston, Nailed Shut MA, embarque sur scène. On peut tout de suite sentir la vibe old-school hardcore scene. Un son fort, percutant... Je ne vous cacherai pas que les breakdowns et les riffs très rapides sont présents. Un band qui est très direct avec leur émotions; elles nous sont sacrées en pleine face! Une vibe violente, mais contrôlée, un impact très saisissant, un choc autant physique qu’émotionnel. J’ai pu parler avec le chanteur, Asher Thomas, une personne vraiment incroyable et proche de son public, ils sont super reconnaissants et il apprécie l’opportunité de faire le tour avec TLTSOL et les autres bands formidables!

Un band très bien établi dans la communauté métal arrive sur scène, direct de la Floride, Traitors. À la seconde que leur perfo débute... une ambiance oppressante, suffocante arrive... Holly, attache ta tuque ak d’la broche chum¹, ça va brasser. Le band deathcore était attendu, une réputation solidement forgée depuis 2013, Tyler Shelton nous arrive avec ses growls insane... Le groupe parle beaucoup de haine, de colère intérieure, de trahison; il canalise toute cette rage et nous la gueule en pleine face, suivi de silence lourd, on se sent ralentir et BAM ça nous varge en pleine face. Traitors nous offre surtout une performance plus lourde/violente, il joue sur le sentiment d'oppression, la tension... suffocation. Il ne joue pas plus fort/violent, mais plus percutant sur leur exécution.

1: pour les gens qui ne sont pas habitués avec ce jargon : Prépare toi à une situation TRÈS mouvementée.

Le band tant attendu de Pennsylvanie, The Last Ten Seconds of Life arrive sur scène. La crowd est PRÊTE(ou peut-être pas?) Le chanteur Tyler Beam arrive, il fait monter la chaleur, la tension et BAM, destruction totale... beatdown, deathcore, riff, growling, c’est étouffant, presque angoissant. Il nous fait ressentir toutes sortes d'émotions; un mélange de chaos, perte de contrôle, violence, tension, imprévisibilité, vibe dramatique, mais le tout super bien interprété et contrôlé par chaque membre. Un autre band qui ne fait pas seulement crier pour crier, ils nous racontent quelque chose; l’agonie, la libération émotionnelle. Une performance complètement folleeee.

J’ai pu m’entretenir avec Wyatt McLaughlin, guitariste et membre original du groupe formé en 2010, il était super reconnaissant de la crowd et tenait absolument à venir me remercier d’être là pour prendre tous leurs moments en photo, me mentionnant que c’est beau à voir du monde passionné assister à leur show; ils donnent tout et nous faisons la même chose en retour! Un beau support dans la communauté hardcore.

Sérieusement, cette soirée était insane, lourde, agressive... Les prestations DAMN! Le fait d’être dans une plus petite salle, c’était intime, la proximité, le son, la basse... C’était PARFAIT! Une mention spéciale à Sacha et Dallas pour le travail de feu, toujours à l’écoute, des tech en or!

On April 9th, The Dead Ones Released Tour ’26 made a stop at La Source de la Martinière and delivered one hell of a show.

Our neighbors Flesh Prison, an emerging deathcore band from Ontario recently signed to Papercut Recordings, kicked off the night with some HEAVY sound. The crowd, still a bit shy at first, slowly started to loosen up, warming up until things quickly took off. Flesh Prison delivered an insane performance, extreme, dark and deeply immersive. You can clearly feel the band’s identity: psychology, horror, oppressive atmosphere, raw aggression... The vocalist, Paul Padgett, delivers a performance filled with emotion and tension… not just a performance to scream. When you take a moment to really watch and listen, you’re pulled completely into their world, you can almost feel the trauma and the internal psychological battles. Flesh Prison felt powerful and authentic; emotions, eye contact, breakdowns and growls were all on point. Honestly, I could’ve taken way more of it. A beautiful contrast between brutality and vulnerability.

Next up, Boston based Nailed Shut MA hit the stage. Right away, you can feel that old-school hardcore scene energy. A strong, punchy sound... and no surprise, plenty of fast riffs and crushing breakdowns. This is a band that doesn’t hold back emotionally, they throw it straight in your FACE. The vibe is violent, yet controlled, creating a striking impact; both physical and emotional. I had the chance to talk with their vocalist, Asher Thomas, who is genuinely an incredible person, very close to his fans. The band is extremely grateful and he mentioned how much they appreciate the opportunity to tour with TLTSOL and with the other amazing bands.

Then, a well established name in the metal community took the stage, straight out of Florida: Traitors. The second their set began... an oppressive, suffocating atmosphere filled the room. Holly, attache ta tuque ak d’la broche(Québécois' Slang basically saying : Brace yourself, it’s about to get wild!) This highly anticipated deathcore band, with a solid reputation built since 2013, came in strong. Tyler Shelton’s growls are absolutely insane! Their music dives deep into themes of hatred, inner anger and betrayal,  all that rage and throwing it straight at you. Moments of crushing heaviness are followed by heavy silence, making you feel the tension build... and then BAM! It hits you all over again. Traitors delivered a performance that felt heavier, more violent… Not by being louder, but by being more impactful and precise in execution. It’s all about pressure, tension... suffocation.

Finally, the long-awaited band from Pennsylvania, The Last Ten Seconds of Life, took the stage. The crowd was READY(ooor maybe not?). Vocalist Tyler Beam stepped in, building heat and tension… and then BAM: total destruction. Beatdown, deathcore, relentless riffs, guttural growls: it’s suffocating, almost anxiety-inducing. They make you feel everything: chaos, loss of control, violence, tension, unpredictability, with a dramatic edge, yet everything is incredibly tight and controlled by each member. Another band that doesn’t just scream for the sake of it, but they tell a story: agony, emotional release. An absolutely insane performance.

I had the chance to speak with Wyatt McLaughlin, guitarist and original member of the band formed in 2010. He was incredibly grateful for the crowd and made a point of thanking me for being there to capture their moments. He mentioned how meaningful it is to see passionate people showing up for their shows… They give everything on stage and we give that same energy right back! It’s a beautiful kind of support within the hardcore community.

Honestly, the entire night was insane, heavy, aggressive... and those performances… ABSOLUTE BLAST! Being in a smaller venue made it all feel so much more intimate, the proximity, the sound, the bass... it was PERFECT. Special shoutout to Sacha and Dallas for their incredible work, as always attentive, truly top-tier techs!
